Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"Family gathering for my dad’s birthday here and I was thankful for an amazing staff, service and great food! We had a party of 30 with no wait on food or drinks! Highly recommend!"
"Tried their country fried steak with brown gravy and 3 veggies: black eyed peas, green beans and fried okra. The brown gravy was delicious, although slightly salty, the country fried steak was served hot and tasty! All the veggies were good, but the okra was on the cold side (was told they make batches of fried okra during the day, but it sat under a heat lamp for a while). Service was friendly and the prices very reasonable. I ordered a philly cheesesteak sandwich with fries (to go) for the hubs, which he said was very good. Nice little place."
"Yummy food and great service from Lisa. We had meat and three plus bread and drink for $13.49 each. We chose chicken fried steak and blackened catfish. Side included green beans, turnip greens, mashed potatoes, and house salad. Hush puppies that are delicious and cornbread that was so-so. Lisa provided us with to-go cups of our beverages. We had enough food to take home for another meal."
"It is a place for locals. The food is down home good. Good portions, we went twice!!"
"Nice clean restaurant with good food and friendly staff. Reasonable prices and plentiful portions. We ate here 2 days in a row and would definitely come back if in the area."
"Great southern home cooking! Large portions, meal comes with 3 sides and your choice of breads. This place is now on our "favorites" list"
"The food was delicious. The philly cheese steak salad was outstanding. Don't order the double cheeseburger unless you have a very large appetite. It is a huge burger. Definitely worth visiting two or three or more times."
"If there's one thing that Red Bay needs, it's more small business restaurants and this place delivers on that. There's a small gift shop in the waiting area then you're seated (or seat yourself depending on busy-ness). It's a one double sided page menu of southern goodness! Country fried steak, local fish, chicken, fried pickles and okra, etc. The portions are generous so expect to take some home. The service was awesome and you pay at the counter. We'll be back!"
